Build a loan-offer comparison matrix that keeps unlike quotes apart

A comparison matrix helps only when each column represents the same borrowing need. Put amount, net disbursal, term, rate type and fees together so a lower instalment does not hide a larger loan or a longer commitment.

Define the comparison baseline

Create rows for principal, cash received, repayment count, EMI, rate mechanism, upfront costs, financed charges and total outflow. Note conditions still subject to verification. Compare a transfer-only quote separately from a quote containing extra cash. Keep quotation dates visible. Where figures are not available, mark them as awaiting confirmation rather than filling gaps with assumptions from another lender.

A worked situation

Offer A for ₹3 lakh over three years and offer B for ₹4 lakh over five years answer different questions. Normalise the need first or show clearly why the extra amount and term are being considered. Ranking them by EMI alone would be misleading.

Your next-step checklist

  • Define one borrowing need per comparison
  • Mark missing figures instead of guessing
  • Compare both cash flow and full cost

Should every lender quote have identical features?

Not necessarily. The matrix should make differences visible and distinguish unavoidable product differences from inputs that can be aligned. Ask for clarification before treating unlike proposals as equivalent.

Official references and further reading

These links help you check current information. A provider-specific page describes that provider’s process; it is not a universal eligibility rule or a claim of partnership.

General educational information, not a personalised credit recommendation. Examples use assumed inputs. Rates, charges, eligibility and documents vary; confirm your own lender’s current written terms.

Compare written offers on a common basis

Set the same required net funding amount and compare the proposed repayment periods explicitly. A sanction amount can include deductions or repayment of an old loan, so it may not equal the cash available for your new purpose. Ask for clarification where the figures do not reconcile.

List the rate type, instalments, upfront costs, financed costs and relevant conditions for each offer. Keep charges paid from your own cash separate from those added to principal. For transfers, include the current facility's closure requirements and the total remaining repayment if you do nothing.

Use the comparison to identify questions, not to assume the lowest visible rate is the best offer. Security, guarantees, disbursal conditions and prepayment flexibility can affect the decision. Check actual lender documents rather than educational examples or unverified promotional claims.

Can Credswitch show live personalised lender offers today?

No. The current launch provides calculators, guides and enquiry capture. Any subsequent lender proposal must be separately obtained, explained and assessed.
